News Reader Configurations
Look for the news reader that you currently are using or the one that you intend to download and use, follow the instructions that
come with the news reader. Especially if you are installing a new news reader, you will usually be asked for certain
information during the installation. Such as the new news server address that you got on our server addresses page.
Your email SMTP server, best choice is to use a fake address, use smtp.AOL.com. Your email address, again best to use a fake
one. Your download directory, set up a special folder on your hard drive and download all images there first. That way
nothing ever gets lost on your hard drive. Later on move them using a program like Away32deluxe which allows you to
wipe the place a file is being moved from after it moves it to a new location, as well as encrypt the file with strong encryption
if you want it hidden from prying eyes. Then if you have any questions about setting it up or configuring your news reader
please look on this page for your news reader and follow closely the instructions below it to setup your reader.
We do not make any money from any of these companies, we do not support their products although we will help if
we can. You are on your own normally and I've rarely seen one that a newbie couldn't' install if they actually read the
setup instructions that come with the program. Guess how many times I've had someone write me that they couldn't
figure out how to install a news reader and were stumped that I've simply gone into the help program for that reader,
copied the pertinent section and pasted it into the return email and sent it to a member only to have them write me
back and say "Thanks, your last email cleared it up for me!". Yes, at least 3 out of 5 times so don't be afraid to
read the help files with the news reader.
